Hey guys, I'm trying to come up with some ideas to make EVE more fun for all of its user base.
I'm testing the waters for the following event: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=359073
Check it out, and let me know what you think.
I'd like to see there be more fun, large scale events, in EVE--and more frequently.
Also, ideas for other fun events would be appreciated. |

Well, that's part of the draw...
I suspect many Leopards will die that day... all in good fun, though! |

Include nullsec too to introduce the possibility of bubbles. That creates more decision making for participants.
Did I say only high-sec/low-sec? It'd be a race across the entire EVE Universe. Ideally, this would include null-sec space. Bubbles, gate camps, nukes, the whole sha-bang! |

Bubbles, gate camps, nukes, the whole sha-bang! Yep my mistake. You didn't say highsec. So why only lowsec and not also highsec and nullsec?
I re-read my post, and saw that I had suggested it would only hit low. That was my mistake.
The ideal race would be across High, low, and null. Although, now that I think about it, I'm not quite sure how to work that out logistically. Are there any POS stations in null that are open to everyone? Or would I have to find someone to set one up? |

There are npc nullsec regions anyone can dock in. Sov regions, depends, but best to assume no docking ability. But why would anyone need to dock? If they need to refit, they should carry a mobile depot.
Ah, I was unaware that there were NPC stations in null. Sweet, so that problem is solved.
They would need to dock at the NPC station to complete the contract. (finish the race). |

They would need to dock at the NPC station to complete the contract. (finish the race). There are NPC nullsec regions, not NPC stations everywhere in nullsec, so just pick an NPC region as your finishing point if you want to finish in nullsec (possibly not the best idea - cynos and people who might be afraid of being stuck in nullsec). When these things have been done before, they've included the need to screen capture certain points in different systems, so you can be certain that a particular minimum set of systems was flown through, rather than cyno across the universe and win in a few minutes.
It will work. :B
The most important question is, ARE YOU WITH ME? |

I'm happy to see some positive reactions. I will keep advertising and asking for suggestions for the next few days. Hopefully I can generate enough interest to make this thing materialize. I think it'd be a whole lot of fun. |

Let's get some more opinions and suggestions for the Eve rat race idea. I want to make this thing happen. Spread the word. Help me get people excited about making it happen! |
